Our mission
"Accelerate the transition to a decarbonized society by setting the actors of society in motion"
For this, we create, thanks to the 2tonnes workshop, immersive, allegorical and educational experiences for individuals in order to:
-
Empower them (and not make them feel guilty) and make them aware of their power to act
-
Make them want to act for an objective to which they adhere for its ambition and its values
-
Make them want to act because they thrive in action
Project governance
Governance is structured around 2 organisations:
-
Social and Solidarity Economy Company, SAS 2tonnes Company, created and directed by François Laugier and Pierre-Alix LLORET, which develops the 2tonnes workshop and manages its distribution in a professional setting (which we call between us "La Forge")
-
Association law 1901, the Association 2 tons, whose mission is to allow the use, by the greatest number, of the tool in a voluntary framework (which we call between us "The Village"). The association organizes workshops for the general public led by volunteers, and brings together the community of facilitators through events, campaigns, seminars, etc. All facilitators can be members of the association, and elect a Board of Directors at the General Assembly. Administration composed of 7 members by majority judgment vote.

Impact project, driven by the general interest and reaching very different audiences, 2tonnes has chosen to become more professional in order to increase its impact and accelerate the dissemination of the workshop. To do this, we had to invent the governance model that was best suited to fulfilling our purpose.

Francois LAUGIER
Co-founder
Idol: Louis de Funès
After graduating as an engineer from Centrale Lyon in 2018, he took a deep interest in environmental issues and got involved in several associations such as Climate Fresk (animator and trainer), Réseau Mycélium (co-founder) and PikPik Environnement.
These experiences have reinforced his interest in the psychology of change and pedagogy, and to make it his profession. Independent consultant and trainer, he has supported several companies in carrying out their Carbon Assessment, and built tailor-made training. He also created the workshop "How to act for the climate" in 2019, and carried the project until he joined forces with Pierre-Alix.
He admires Louis de Funès for his talent, his originality, his humour, but also his humility and his quest for excellence.

Model, sources and data
Average carbon footprint in France

The 2ton workshop is an educational experience which is based on a data model to simulate, in a quantified way, low-carbon transition scenarios.
Data is therefore an educational tool, and we are very demanding with regard to model accuracy, and the sources used. They make it possible to give the experience its consistency and his credibility.
The calculation methodology during a 2ton simulation is based on 3 models which interact with each other:
-
The carbon footprint model calculates the carbon footprints of the participants and the population, using data from Ademe, the OECD, the FAO...
-
The stock model updates the characteristic data of the participants and the population, based on assumptions from reference works on the subject (RTE, négaWatt, Ademe, etc.)
-
The influencing model quantifies the societal dynamics taken into account in the simulation, drawing inspiration from the notions of behavioral sciences
